Today’s sermon was delivered by Pastor Massoud Sadeghi. After the sermon, brother Reza, chair of the Nejat Church Ministry Committee introduced the committee’s members and the mission. The mission of the committee is to: “To provide assistance and consultation to the members of the Nejat church in all aspects whenever feasible.”
And now a summary of Pastor Sadeghi’s sermon: Welcome to Nejat Church. You are the precious stones that Jesus is using to build his church. What connects these stones together is the Holy Spirit. Perhaps certain governments imprison you, or take your family, your freedom, your house and your money, but they can not take away your faith in Jesus Christ. They can not take God’s love from you. They can not take your belief in Christ and they can not block the vast and full river of God’s love that is flowing outward from your heart.
“Let those who have an ear to hear” said Jesus to the crowd. Today Jesus has the same message for us. “Consider carefully what you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured on to you-and even more. Whoever has, will be given more. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.” His message means that the more value and weight you put into God’s Word, the more you shall receive. Let me ask: How well do you hear God’s word? Let’s listen to the Word through Jesus. I have two messages from Jesus, one before He went on the cross and the second after His resurrection.
You’re God’s children and belong to God. You’ve gained a complete victory over Satan. Each of you is a temple for God to dwell in. He who is within you is more powerful and mightier than anything that’s outside of you. Do you hear God’s message? In Matthew 10:37-38, Jesus said, “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me,…”. Jesus wants to be our first love. He wants us to love Him first and before anything or anyone else. Jesus wants us to have a good relationship with the Lord. He wants us to love God more than anything.
In Revelation 2:1-8, Jesus talks to us through His letter to the Church of Ephesus, “… You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first”. Jesus continues: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”
It’s time that we listen to Jesus and grow in faith. It’s time that we repent if we did not place our first love in Jesus. I pray that Jesus is your first love and that you will be among those who eat from the tree of life. Amen.
